We’re kicking off our August NaNoWriMo Fundraiser, which is in support of our September-December Programming. Did you know that the Guild welcomes most of our new writers during the NaNoWriMo season? By providing classes, write-ins, and support during these months, we are about to recruit, retain, and support writers in our region. When you purchase a raffle ticket this month, you’re helping us do that great work!
When I set out to put together our NaNoWriMo raffle prizes, I thought about what a writer might want before NaNoWriMo started or during NaNoWriMo. As a a Writer, I think of NaNo Season as a time to cozy up to my computer and get a lot done. I want stuff that will keep my comfortable, keep me thinking, and keep me writing. As a Mom, when I think of NaNo Season, I think of all of the tasks that compete for my attention during that time: dinner, laundry, kiddos, husband… it’s a busy time and my life doesn’t stop because I’m dedicating myself to drafting.
