Event Type

This is a big deal. We’re SO excited to host author Amalia Dillin, author of MANY book series in historical fiction, mythic retellings, and romance! Her work is prolific and excellent! This is for the writer who is working on a mythic retelling, or wants to dabble in it, perhaps as a new project this November? Read the description below:
Some modern mythic retellings are beloved and some are reviled—some are both at the same time!—and the truth is, you’ll never be able to please everyone no matter what you’re trying to write. But in this session, we can talk about how to approach Norse and Greek myths, even fairy tales, for direct retellings aimed at a modern audience, including cultural and historical realities to keep in mind and how to turn these notoriously tragic stories into a happily ever after or a happily for now without betraying the characters or the sources themselves.
This is a FREE class as part of our NaNoSeason programming! Mark your calendar and get the Zoom link here:
